Our Programs
Chez Moi "My House"
ARCF's dormitory facility, home to 35 children in Puit Blain, Petionville.
The after effects following the earthquake on January 12, 2010 were vast a mounts of devestation, and loss for Haiti, consequently so too for the children of At Risk. We suffered the loss of nine of our children, and our rental property in Jacmel. With this came the urgency to move immediately on finding a solution. The plans for a future project broke ground as well as construction on a more permanent home for our children. Thus began the realization of "Chez Moi".
With vision, determination and the support of many wonderful people, construc
tion began on March 15, 2010. The children were able to move into their new dormitory on May 1st. There is much work still to come as the need for a more suitable building on the premises is neccessary.
The "Bon Dlo" (Good Water)
Clean water, basic sanitation, access to health care and education are limited comodities that are excluded from individuals and families of lower economic status in Haiti. In July of 2009 ARCF in partnership with One Family International created a new well and 40,000 gallon capacity reservoir in Custine,Cavaillon, Haiti. The well serves the children of ARCF, as well as 3200 people who reside in the local community.
Healthcare Surveillance -
Volunteer doctors visit the children regularly to provide routine check-ups and immunizations.
Home -Group Care -
This program serves as a foster family setting for additonal children under the care of ARCF. The needs of the children are overseen by our program director. The Group Care Parents recieve support, resources, and training necessary to properly provide and care for the children. This arrangement was instituted in February 2004, due to the population displacement taking place in Haiti. Some of the children were relocated from Port-au-Prince to a safer environment in the southeastern region of Haiti.
